Staś Butler

Mr. Staś Butler is a broadcast journalist at Radio Taiwan International(RTI). His weekly show The Download focuses on science and technology, covering issues ranging from Taiwan’s green energy transition to the government’s “bilingual nation” policy. Staś also has a longstanding interest in humanitarian issues, stemming from his experiences volunteering in a refugee camp in Greece.

Staś graduated top of his year from the University of Oxford in 2019 with a degree in Russian and Arabic. After graduation, he moved to Taiwan to begin studying Mandarin on a Huayu Scholarship. A year later, Staś won the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall 2020 International Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition. He began working for RTI the following month.
